Awards vs. Certifications

Understand the difference between Awards and Certifications and how to track them.

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Track both Awards and Certifications for your team through the Talent module. While both are achievements, they serve different purposes.

Awards

Awards recognize great performance or milestones. These are typically one-time recognitions given for doing excellent work.

Examples:

  • Employee of the Month

  • Top Performer

  • Safety Award

  • Years of Service

Certifications

Certifications verify that someone has completed specific training or met certain skill requirements.

Examples:

  • Certified Loader

  • Certified Opener

  • Forklift Certified

  • Safety Training Certified

Why track both

Tracking these separately helps you:

  • Recognize performance - Awards highlight who's doing great work

  • Verify skills - Certifications show who's trained on what

  • Identify training gaps - See which certifications are missing across locations

Viewing achievement reports

Pull reports on both Awards and Certifications:

  1. Go to Reports > Talent > Achievements

  2. View Awards and Certifications by employee or location

  3. Use these reports to spot potential training gaps
