How to Set Up a Kiosk Account Email (Using Gmail +Addressing)

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Why this matters

When you create a kiosk account in WashStacks, it needs to be tied to a unique email address. But many car wash operators don’t have a dedicated email address just for the store—and setting up a brand-new inbox for the kiosk can be a hassle.

If your company uses Gmail (or Google Workspace) for email, there’s a simple workaround: Gmail lets you create unlimited “+addresses” that all forward to your regular inbox.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Check If You Use Gmail

This method works if:
• Your company email is a standard Gmail address (like [email protected])
• Or your email is hosted by Google Workspace (like [email protected] managed through Gmail)

If your company email doesn’t run through Gmail, this method won’t apply—you’ll need to use or create a separate email address for the kiosk account.

Step 2: Add a “+Name” to Your Existing Email

If your main email is: [email protected]

You can create a kiosk login like this: [email protected]

That address will still route to your main inbox. Gmail automatically ignores anything after the + sign for delivery, but it still treats it as a separate email for login purposes.

You can repeat this pattern for each store that needs a Kiosk login:

[email protected]
[email protected]
• etc.

Step 3: Use That Address in WashStacks

When creating a new kiosk user:

That’s it—no separate inbox required.

Step 4: (Optional) Organize Your Inbox with Filters

If you want to keep kiosk-related messages easy to spot:

  1. 1. In Gmail, search:

    to:[email protected]

  2. Click the filter icon

  3. Choose Create filter

  4. Apply a label like “Kiosk Emails” or auto-archive if needed

If You Don’t Use Gmail

If your email system doesn’t support this kind of address format (or if kiosk emails need to go to a separate person), we recommend setting up a simple shared address like: [email protected]

This can forward to your main inbox or a manager’s account if needed.
