Kiosk Mode allows WashStacks to be used on a shared tablet at a store location. Instead of logging in and out of individual accounts, employees can validate themselves using their PIN to complete actions like checklists, viewing the store schedule, clocking in or out, and entering damage claims.
This ensures each action is still correctly tied to the employee who performed it, while keeping the device signed in for shared use.
Step 1: Setting Up Kiosk Mode
To enable Kiosk Mode at a location, you’ll first need to create a dedicated Kiosk User for that location.
Navigate to the Users page
Log in to your WashStacks account.
From the side navigation bar go to Settings > Users.
Click the “Add New User” button
Fill in the user’s information (First Name, Last Name, Email Address, and Phone Number).
In the Role dropdown, select “Kiosk Mode”.
(Note: The Kiosk Mode role is automatically created by WashStacks and cannot be edited.)
Assign locations
Under the Locations section, select the location(s) where this Kiosk User will be active.
Save the user
Once all required information is entered, click “Save”.
Step 2: Using Kiosk Mode
Once the Kiosk User has been set up and logged in, the device will enter Kiosk Mode. Here’s how it works:
Logging in as a Kiosk User
To activate Kiosk Mode, log in using the email and password for the Kiosk User account.
Once logged in, the device will remain in Kiosk Mode, allowing multiple users to perform actions by validating themselves with their personal PINs.
Validating actions with a PIN
When performing an action (e.g., starting a claim, managing tasks, clocking in/out), the app will prompt the user to:
Select their name from a dropdown list of users assigned to that location.
Enter their personal 4-digit PIN to validate their identity.
After successful validation, the user can complete the action without logging in or out of the app.
Supported Actions in Kiosk Mode
Kiosk Mode supports a variety of actions to help streamline operations at car wash locations. These include:
Clocking in/out
Entering damage claims
Managing tasks
Note: Kiosk Mode may support additional actions in future updates. Check with your administrator for the latest capabilities.
Next Steps
Ensure all users have set their personal PINs. Each user must have a valid PIN to validate their identity in Kiosk Mode.
Train your team members on how to use Kiosk Mode for clocking in/out, managing tasks, and starting damage claims.
Regularly review the users and locations associated with the Kiosk Mode to keep them up-to-date.
