WashStacks integrates with Twilio to send and receive SMS messages for customer conversations. This article walks you through how to create a Twilio Messaging Service, register for A2P 10DLC, and connect your account to WashStacks.
1. Sign Up for Twilio
If you haven’t already, create an account at twilio.com.
2. Create a New Messaging Service
In the Twilio dashboard, expand the Messaging section and click Services.
Click Create Messaging Service.
Name the service WashStacks Conversations.
For usage, choose Engage in a discussion.
Click Create Messaging Service to proceed.
3. Add a Phone Number
Under Sender Pool, click Add Senders.
Set Sender Type to Phone Number and click Continue.
Click Search to browse available phone numbers.
Choose a number and click Buy. This number will have a monthly fee billed directly by Twilio.
After purchase, select the number and click Add Phone Numbers.
Save your new phone number for later use. Be sure to keep the full format with no spaces (e.g. +18284265736).
4. Set Up Webhook Integration
In the Messaging Service, click Integration in the left-hand menu.
Select Send a webhook.
Enter the following URL in both the Request URL and Fallback URL fields:
https://app.washstacks.com/api/1.1/wf/twilio-incoming-sms-webhook
Scroll down and click Save.
5. Register for A2P 10DLC
In the left menu, go to A2P & Compliance.
Click + Connect A2P Campaign.
Select Register for A2P.
Select Register for A2P.
Set Company Type to Private (unless your company is publicly traded).
Choose Low-Volume Standard Brand (this has a one-time fee from Twilio).
Accept the fee terms and click Register.
Brand approval can take up to 10 days.
6. Create an A2P Campaign
After brand approval, click Campaign Registration.
Select your approved brand from the A2P Brand dropdown.
Under campaign use cases, select Low Volume Mixed ($1.50/month).
Choose Select existing Messaging Service and select WashStacks Conversations.
Campaign Details
Description:
This campaign sends notifications to customers that submit damage claims with our business.
Sample Messages:
Your damage claim has been submitted and will be reviewed by our damage claim specialists. Someone from our damage claims group will be in touch within five business days.
Your damage claim has been approved.
Your damage claim has been denied. If you have any questions regarding this result, you can reply to this text message.
Consent Language:
End users opt in at our store when they submit a damage claim. This is done in person. By providing their phone number, they agree to receive text messages from our business for the purpose of resolving their damage claim.
Click Create, then Confirm to submit your campaign. It may take 1-2 weeks for final approval.
7. Gather Your Twilio Credentials
In Twilio, click your account name in the top-right corner, then choose API Keys & Tokens.
Under Live Credentials, copy your Account SID.
Click the eye icon to reveal your Auth Token and copy that as well.
Make sure you have all three items ready:
Twilio Phone Number (in +1XXXXXXXXXX format)
Account SID
Auth Token
8. Connect Twilio to WashStacks
Click the gear icon in the bottom left, then go to API.
Paste your Twilio Phone Number, Account SID, and Auth Token into the provided fields.
Click Test & Save.
If successful, you’ll see a confirmation message:
“Tested & Saved Successfully!”
Once your A2P campaign is approved, you’ll be able to send and receive customer messages through WashStacks Conversations.
